Welcome to our Year 6 page.
Welcome to Y6!
We love teaching the oldest children in school as it is such an important and exciting year. We have so many great topics across the curriculum to get stuck into and we think you will really enjoy them. Throughout the year, we will also work on preparing you to move to Secondary School and transition activities will begin in March. There are lots of roles for you to take on in school too, including House Captains, Peer Mediators and prefects.
Meet the team
Miss Wildman - Y6EW - Sachar Class Teacher
Mr Hill - Y6RH - Tolkien Class Teacher
Mr Ambler - Y6 Teaching Assistant
Mr Lowson - Maths support
Mr Lowson often works with us to help with maths.
Miss Moss and Mrs Crocker teach the classes on some days when Mr Hill or Miss Wildman are busy with other jobs in school.
In Y6, it is important to build the children’s independence in preparation for secondary school. To support this, please encourage them to organise their own belongings to bring to school. Y6 children are also able to walk to and from school themselves if they live close enough - please let us know if you would like your child to do so.
Weekly spelling lists will be sent to practise at home.
