Afterschool Clubs

We believe that extended learning, sometimes also called extra-curricular opportunities play a key role in the development of our children here at Monteney. We seek to provide as many opportunities as we can for children to extend their learning and discover and celebrate their talents and interests. Each half-term we share a timetable of the after school clubs on offer.

Sheffield Children’s University – In order to celebrate the success of children taking part in extended learning activities outside of school hours we work with the Children’s University to help our children collect Children’s University credits. The Sheffield Children’s University awards children a credit for every hour of activity attended out of school hours. The children can work towards a wide range of  awards during their time at Monteney Primary. For further information about Sheffield Children’s University. https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/cu

School Meals

For those children staying for school dinners, we operate a banding system. This allows children to select their dinner option at morning registration. At dinner time, children are given a coloured band which they exchange for their chosen meal. This ensures that children receive their first choice and helps to minimise food wastage.

For children bringing their own packed lunches, we ask for no fizzy drinks or glass bottle please. We also encourage children to have healthy options in their lunches.

Fresh Fruit and the Salad Bar is available daily.

School Uniform

Monteney Primary School Governors in consultation with parents have established a dress code for all children attending the school. At Monteney, we are very proud of our school uniform. We believe it enables us to promote a sense of pride in the school, engenders a sense of community and belonging towards the school, is practical and smart, identifies the children with the school and makes children feel equal to their peers in terms of appearance.

You as parents also tell us that you like your children to wear school uniform and welcome having a clear understanding of what your children are expected to wear for school. In light of this we have produced these clear guidelines for you about school uniform and PE kit, to enable your children to be ready for school and ready for learning at Monteney. School uniform with the school logo can be purchased by following the below links. Please note there is no requirement for uniform to have the school logo on.
